Aprašymas
Reborn
The Reborn series has a true and deep Scandinavian full action, a tapering where you can really feel the load of energy from the perfected mix of carbon and graphene +, which swiftly transfers the energy into your fly line with very little effort.
As per tradition, every single rod in the series has a designated purpose. In other words, they have all been designed for specific type of fly fishing, line weights and fly sizes. With the ultimate fusion of rod action and line weight, you will cast better, fish better and thus increase the quality of your fishing. You will improve your skills as a fly caster and, more importantly, as a fly fisherman.
Reborn is a classic looking rod with a modern finish. The color of the blank is translucent brown, which changes the shade of brown under different light conditions. The wrappings are gold colored and logo is printed in an off-white shade. The blanks in the Reborn series are all varnished with high quality epoxy coating.
Specifikacija
It looks light… it feels light… and it can bend? (and it should) – However, this is still a real beast when it comes to handling larger species, like salmon, steelhead, sea run brown trout, dorado, etc.
Fishing with single hand rods is very efficient, as you tend to fish your fly better, with more finesse and a gentler, sneakier presentation. This is because you always have the line in your hand when fishing and casting with a single hand rod. Therefore, you will naturally be working both your line and especially your fly more – as opposed to what most do when fishing with double hand rods – and that is a fact.
In my point of view, single hand fly fishing for salmon should be used more, especially in those rivers where retrieving the fly in different repetitions will make the difference between a catch or no catch.
But also in the larger rivers, during those periods where the rivers are low and with less current, that is the time when this rod size and the technique that follows with it, will be the difference between a fish or no fish!
The Reborn 9’9” 20 grams/308 grains is a perfect fly fishing tool when paired with the perfect line combination for the water you are fishing.
When wet fly fishing on larger rivers, the choice should be either Logic heads or Short-cut heads, depending on the conditions and surroundings you are fishing in. Use Short-cut heads if you are forced to mainly use single hand Spey casting.
If you are fishing a river/lake where you have to retrieve a lot of line after each cast, or just have to do short casts with a bushy fly, the WF Shooter would be the right option.
Line and reel recommendation:
WF lines – 20 grams/308 grains
Logic heads – 20 grams/308 grains
Short-cut heads – 20 grams/308 grains
Logic RL. 0.028
In other words, it takes a lot more skills and quite a lot of salmon dry fly fishing experience to create a blank to be a precision tool on many different casting lengths. When you nail it, you will also have a blank that will subsequently be outstanding for wet fly fishing as well, as fishing and casting a wet fly is far less demanding compared to a dry fly.
The Reborn 10’0” 18 grams rod is, in our opinion, a perfect single hand rod where distance, accuracy and control are extremely easy to achieve! On this fly rod, we have reinforced all potential stress points, as well as had a strong focus on making an efficient energy flow throughout the blank from the bottom to top.
If you match this with a WF shooter 18 grams/278 grains when you are fishing with larger dry flies or skaters, you will have the perfect match. If your primary fly fishing is mainly focused on wet flies or hitching, your line choice should be a WF Evolve, which has a longer front tapering. When fishing with wet flies and tubes under conditions where you are forced to do a lot of single hand Spey casting, the Short-cut heads are truly a dream to work with. However, if distance is needed and you have room for overhead casting as well, the Logic heads are a far better option.
This line weight and rod length will always be an evergreen classic for a salmon- and sea run brown trout fly fisherman, and it is by far our favorite when it comes to surface fishing for both species.
Line and reel recommendation:
WF line – 18 grams/278 grains
Logic heads – 18 grams/278 grains
Short-cut heads – 18 grams/278 grains
Logic RL. 0.028
With newer and advanced carbon fiber and technology, we were able to obtain improved tolerances for a fly rod loading with only 14 grams/216 grains – creating a blank profile with unparalleled strength and yet offering an intense sensitivity, which was our goal…. Clearly, we reached that goal.
This particular size is especially suited for fishing in clear rivers where trout or sea trout are easily spooked. Presenting the fly delicately is easy with this rod and, when you need it, this rod has no problem helping you with “that” longer and controlled cast.
If you are looking for beautiful presentations in spooky waters, WF Evolve is the line you should pair this rod with. If you are fishing in areas where you do not have much room to cast, WF Shooter is the recommended choice to cover all those difficult spots where you know that tricky trout could be hiding.
Line and reel recommendation:
WF Shooter line – 14 grams/216 grains
WF Evolve line – 14 grams/216 grains
